Kwame Kilpatrick is already fighting allegations that he lied under oath about an intimate relationship with his then top aide. The allegations include that Kilpatrick sent and received romantic text messages from former chief of Staff Christine Beatty. Now, Kilpatrick faces charges that he exchanged romantic text messages with other women as well. These new allegations have led the prosecutor's office to amend the current misconduct-in-office and perjury charges against the 38-year-old mayor. Beatty also faces charges in the case. Both Kilpatrick and Beatty claim they are innocent. Both are due in court on September 22nd for a preliminary examination.
