Florida Everglades fire scorches 33000 acres

MIAMI, May 18 (UPI) - A series of wildfires raging through the Everglades National Park in Florida spread to encompass nearly 33,000 acres by Sunday morning, fire officials said.
Fire officials said the blazes were 20 percent contained, but noted high winds pushed the flames closer to Miami. Officials put the total damage estimate at over $9 million, CNN said.
