By Gretchen Schlosser, West Central Tribune WILLMAR - Six jurors were selected Monday in the trial of Olga Marina Franco Del Cid, 24, of Minneota, who is accused of causing the fatal Feb. 19 Cottonwood school bus crash.
Juror questioning began Monday morning before Judge David W. Peterson at the Kandiyohi County Courthouse. Lyon County Attorney Rick Maes and defense attorney Manuel Guerrero have accepted six of the 12 potential jurors to come before the court. So far, four women and two men have been selected. Jury selection continues today and opening arguments are expected later in the week.

By John Brewer WILLMAR, Minn. - The trial for Olga Franco opened here Monday with lawyers questioning prospective jurors for the criminal vehicular homicide case.
By the end of the day, six jurors — four women and two men — were sworn in, and six potential jurors were excused from duty. The court plans to seat a dozen jurors and two or three alternates for the trial of Franco, 24, the illegal immigrant from Guatemala accused of crashing a minivan into a Cottonwood, Minn., school bus Feb. 19. Four children died in the crash, and 17 other people were injured.
