LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Mario Lopez is taking over as sole host of the Hollywood gossip show "Extra," replacing Dayna Devon and Mark McGrath.
Lopez, a veteran of "Saving by the Bell" and "Dancing with the Stars," had served as a correspondent and co-host of "Extra's" weekend edition. He will begin his new duties in September when the syndicated show launches its 15th season.

Mario will take over for Extra's current co-host, Mark McGrath, on Sept. 15 as the Sugar Ray singer leaves to focus on his music career. Co-host Dayna Devon has been downgraded to a special correspondent role and will serve as a backup host for Mario.

Extra has decided that it's out with the old and in with the new. Their host Mark McGrath is leaving the show and is being replaced by Mario Lopez.
He got his foot in the door with the show by co-hosting their weekend edition of the show. He'll take over on September 15th for Extra's 15th season.
