I’m sure some will find the new web video produced by the John McCain campaign, “Obama Love,” amusing. The video strings together a bunch of snippets of TV commentators talking about Obama in positive, sometimes sweet and glowing terms. The video is set to Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.”
But, coming on the heels of one of the worst, ham-fisted, nonsense ads of the season in which a John McCain approved ad tries to lay blame for high gas prices on rival Barack Obama, I am thinking this is the week when historians will say that the McCain campaign jumped the shark.

CBNNews.com - GOP presidential candidate John McCain on Wednesday said the recent drop in the price of oil was due to President Bush's lifting of a presidential ban on offshore drilling.
"The price of oil dropped $10 a barrel," said McCain, who argued that lifting the ban has affected world markets. Bush recently lifted the executive order banning offshore drilling that his father put in place in 1990.
"unconditional withdrawal." Obama's plan to withdraw U.S. troops over a 16-month period "could lead to a resurgence in our enemies, and we would have to come back," McCain said.

Instead of quoting any article tonight, let me share with you my thoughts of why the McCain camp doesn't "get it", and why John McCain offers nothing new for America.
Senator John McCain is a true American hero. I admire his past service to this country, his bravery under combat, his time as a POW and his extensive years as a United States Senator who at times has been in the past a maverick, willing to work with Democrats from Senator John Kerry to Senator Russ Feingold.
ys it is time to move on. We have given the Iraqis the opportunity to deal with their own internal divisions and civil war. Let us instead concentrate on Osama Bin Laden, you know the 'evil-doer' who led the campaign that resulted in 9/11. There weren't any Iraqis hijacking planes into the Twin Towers.

A respected group of media researchers has found that Barack Obama gets a lot more coverage than John McCain. I didn't need a think tank to tell me that. After all, Madonna gets more coverage than McCain does, even when she doesn't want it—although it is hard to imagine when she wouldn't.
Obama gets more media attention than John McCain because, as we have heard over and over again, Obama is the "rock star" of today's political scene. McCain, by contrast, is an attractive candidate and war hero who is less intriguing precisely because, in a political world where "fresh" and "new" has become the highest virtue, we know him so well.

Here's a message for reluctant Democrats, feminists and independents who can't seem to make up their minds and back Barack Obama: consider the alternative, and get over your existentialist angst. Too many things are at stake this year for any of us to be able to afford allowing John McCain to be elected by default.
For those who don't understand what I'm talking about, a little history lesson might be in order. In 1968, after Robert Kennedy's assassination, many of his and Senator Eugene McCarthy's supporters refused to back Hubert Humphrey, which gave us Richard Nixon, a prolonged Vietnam War and Watergate. And we can thank all the self-righteous radical purists who voted

There were few cheering crowds when President George W. Bush made a farewell tour of Europe last month, but there will be no shortage of adoration and applause when Senator Barack Obama arrives there this week, at the conclusion of a swing through Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel and the West Bank. President Bush drained a deep spring of goodwill towards the United States. The Democrat presidential candidate carries the hopes of many for rebuilding alliances and trust. His tour, less than four months out from the election, suggests Mr Obama is prepared to engage in foreign policy dynamics and detail in a manner that Mr Bush never contemplated.
It is, of course, about far more than
