John McCain's campaign, with some acid humor, is directly hitting what many critics see as the media's infatuation with Barack Obama.
Declaring that the media are "in love" with Obama, it announced yesterday it is holding a contest between two video compilations of various media commentators fawning over Obama. Both are set to music, one to Frankie Valli's "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" and the other to his "My Eyes Adored You."
te Ken Blackwell says: "It is only when you begin to peel back the layers that you begin to see a disturbing pattern." The ad ends with Obama saying: "We are the ones we've been waiting for."

I’m sure some will find the new web video produced by the John McCain campaign, “Obama Love,” amusing. The video strings together a bunch of snippets of TV commentators talking about Obama in positive, sometimes sweet and glowing terms. The video is set to Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.”
But, coming on the heels of one of the worst, ham-fisted, nonsense ads of the season in which a John McCain approved ad tries to lay blame for high gas prices on rival Barack Obama, I am thinking this is the week when historians will say that the McCain campaign jumped the shark.

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain apparently feels just a little jilted by the media lately given all the attention being paid to the trip by Democratic White House rival Barack Obama to Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East and Europe. rtr20ejl.jpg
All three broadcast networks sent their anchors overseas to interview Obama during his travels. McCain has been maintaining his domestic campaign schedule, raising money and attending rallies in Maine, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.

Washington, DC (AHN) - Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) ridiculed the media on Tuesday for what it said was its unreasonable fascination for Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL).
The presumptive Republican nominee's campaign released a video titled "Obama Love" featuring reporters including Lee Cowan, Lou Dobbs and Tucker Carlson heaping praise for the freshman senator. MSNBC's Chris Matthews is also shown describing a "thrill going up my leg" during an Obama speech.

The Carpetbagger Report - Jul 22, 2008
Well, I’ve finally seen everything. John McCain, who enjoys more media affection than any political figure in recent memory, has taken to complaining that reporters are overly fond of Barack Obama.
The video is a three-minute montage the McCain campaign put together with “evidence” of the media’s pro-Obama bias. Most of the clip is made up of comments from Chris Matthews and remarks from various surrogates for the Clinton campaign during the Democratic primary.

By Greg Sargent - July 22, 2008, 11:55AM The campaign of John McCain - who once described the media as his "base" -- has come up with a pretty creative way to portray the media as "in love" with Barack Obama, blasting two versions of this video right into the in-boxes of the swooning reporters themselves...
It actually is a pretty funny idea, we have to admit. MSNBC takes an especially hard hit, with Chris "Thrill Up My Leg" Matthews singled out for particularly scalding ridicule.

Now on McCain's Web site, You can vote for which video song you think best portrays the media's devotion to Obama.
The first video is played to the tune of Frankie Valli's "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," the second to Vallie's "My Eyes Adored You." Both montages include snippets (mostly of MSNBC clips) of Chris Matthews saying Obama caused a "thrill" to go up his leg and NBC News' Lee Cowan saying, "it's almost hard to remain objective because it's infectious," among other examples of Obama love. As of 11:43 a.m., video and song #1 has the lead, 81%-19%. Seems like people are flocking to the site to vote soon after the campaign's e-mail went out.
