ELECTIONS: Voters say yes to school budgets

Voters in all of Tompkins County's school districts approved proposed school budgets for 2008-09 Tuesday. Propositions regarding capital improvements, repairs and bus purchases were also approved and most incumbents returned to school boards.
Dryden voters approved the proposed $32 million budget, 708-339 and voted yes on propositions to buy new buses. Incumbent Chris Gibbons, Jennifer Davis and incumbent Karin Lamotte were elected for three-year terms. Incumbent Kathy Zahler received the fourth-highest number of votes, and will fill a one-year term.
ge Wiltsie were returned to the school board, with write-in candidates Holly Morais gaining two votes and David Hine, 1.
